Find your New Year’s Eve party in Des Moines

    December 29th, 2010

The time is upon us. The remnants of wrapping paper are finally thrown out, Christmas trees are beginning to come down and we’re all creating that hopeful “resolution list” that we swear we’re going to follow through with.

And as we do all these things, many of us are just now starting to think “Hey, I might want to find somewhere to ring in 2011″. Well never fear, we’ve searched around and have come up with 5 NYE celebrations that have caught our interest.

New Year's Eve, Des Moines, Des Moines Social Club
    1) Des Moines Social Club’s “The Bash”, this 2nd annual event sold out last year and it’s sure to happen again. While the ticket price ($50) may seem a bit much at first, what you get is well worth it! 7 hours of live entertainment, a balloon drop sponsored by Kosama; where 2 memberships for the January session will be given away, plus great people, and great drinks. And best of all?! All proceeds go towards the continued FREE programming at the social club offers.

    2) Cabaret West Glen, a $5 cover will get you into this party. Free party favors, champagne toast at midnight, with dancing and boogying all night this is the place to be in West Des Moines. And, if you check in on Foursquare , your first drink is on the house!

    3) Uncle Buck’s , known for its mechanical bull and beer truck bar. This place is throwing one heck of a hoe-down for NYE. They’re giving away over $3,000 in prizes throughout the night, and have a great variety of VIP packages available; starting at $25 where you can get a couple bottles of Boone’s Farm to $175, which gives you top shelf liquor & mixers and your personal bartender all night!

    4) Embassy Suites New Year’s Celebration This is Des Moines’ longest running and probably biggest NYE party. For $300, you get a 2 room suite, dinner, breakfast, champagne at midnight, live entertainment and a balloon drop! No party only tickets are being sold, just FYI.

5)GuideOne ImaginEve This party is for the families. With loads of inflatables, clowns and entertainment; this party is perfect for a family outing. Best of all, it’s FREE!

For more information on the parties we listed, or to see a big list of parties in Des Moines, check out the Des Moines Metromix website.

Have a FANTASTIC New Year’s and don’t forget to celebrate safe!

Hope to see you in 2011!
